Aeromedical Medevac Helicopter Project
ArchAngel MedEvac is a critical care Ambulance transport system and milestone Emergency Medevac Helicopter Servce project current being developed and introduced on the island of St. Luciain the Caribbean and will serve as the aeromedical air clinical arm of the Emergency Health Management Systems, Life Flight Services (St. Lucia) and the Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Services (CPHEMS) training Center in St. Lucia.
It has evolved from an Prehospital EMergency Medical Services Training Program which is the brain child and vision of Mr. Craig Herman an internationally Trained, Certified and Credentialed corhort and graduate of the State University of New York Erie Community College City Campus, Academically educated EMS Educator Level 1 of the American National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE), EMS Educator Levels A & B Florida State Based Broward College and has developed into a proposed first single-operated and dispatched air-medical transport service in St. Lucia in collaboration with the St. Lucia Helicopters,the island's sole operating commercial helicopter service.

The project was envisioned and conceptualized by Mr. Herman in 2017 with abled guidance and motivational support from Captain Owen Sandiford helicopter pilot with an extensive military background and experience flying helicopters regionally and internationally.



Aeromedical Evacuation Technician Training Program
An Aeromedical Evacuation Technician is a specialized medical professional, trained to provide in-flight medical care to ill or injured patients during air transport. They prepare aircraft for missions, load patients, and monitor vital signs under challenging conditions

Key Responsibilities:

In-Flight Care: Translating standard clinical skills to the aircraft environment to provide en-route critical care.

​Aircraft Configuration: Transforming cargo or transport planes, helicopters into flying medical units by setting up oxygen, monitoring devices, and stretchers.

Patient Transport: Safely enplaning, deplaning, and monitoring patients while navigating flight stresses and altitude physiology.

Emergency Response: Managing inflight medical and aircraft emergencies alongside nurses and flight crews

Requirements and Training:
​
To become an Aeromedical Evacuation Technician, you typically must first be a certified medical professional, such as an Emergency Medical Technician, paramedic, or aerospace medical specialist.

Specialized Training: Personnel undergo specialized programs (such as aviation physiology course) to learn aviation physiology, mission requirements, and crew resource management.

Certification: Training includes high-fidelity simulations, medical equipment maintenance, and hands-on drills in static fuselage trainers.
Work Environment:

These technicians serve in active duty, reserve, or national guard units. They are highly mobile and work in support of combat operations, disaster response, and humanitarian missions.

Aeromedical Certified Flight Communications Specialist (CFCS) Training Program
The Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) credential is the premier, industry-recognized training program for aeromedical dispatchers and communication specialists. Administered primarily by the International Association of Medical Transport Communication Specialists (IAMTCS), it is designed to ensure safe, standardized, and highly coordinated air medical operations.

The program trains specialists to bridge the gap between pilots, medical crews, and ground responders. Key subjects covered include:

Flight Following & Navigation: Tracking aircraft, interpreting radar, and utilizing mapping software.
